How Treats Work

When treats are deducted, when they're not, how to check your balance, and what happens if something goes wrong.

Treats are the fuel that runs the naming engine. Here's exactly how they flow.

When is a treat deducted?

A treat is deducted when you click Generate and the generation completes successfully. Not when you open the app. Not when you start typing. Only when the engine finishes and returns results to your screen.

If generation starts but fails — due to a timeout, an API hiccup, or any other error on our end — your treat is automatically returned to your balance. You won't be charged for our mistakes.

What counts as a successful generation?

Any session that returns at least one name to your screen. Even if the results aren't what you hoped for, you got the service — the engine ran, checked domains, and gave you something to work with.

What if zero names are returned?

If the engine runs but returns zero results (this can happen with very narrow vibes like Quiet Luxury combined with a very specific anchor word), your treat is returned automatically. Zero results = no charge. We're not interested in taking your fish for nothing.

How do I check my treat balance?

Your current balance is always visible in the top-right corner of the app when you're signed in. It updates in real time after each generation.

You can also check your balance in Account → Treats for a full history of when treats were used, from which session, and when your next monthly refill lands (if you're subscribed).

Do treats expire?

  • Monthly subscription treats reset on your billing date. Unused treats from the previous month do not roll over. Use them or lose them — this is the one part where the cat is ruthless.
  • Treat pack treats (purchased separately) never expire. They're yours until you use them. They also stack with subscription treats — the engine uses subscription treats first.
  • Can I share treats with a team?

Not yet. Treats are currently tied to individual accounts. Team plans with shared balances are on the roadmap.
